It’s that time of year again…where I am hosting the 2nd annual Wrap It Up! Present Wrapping Inspiration blog hop.
I’m continuing with my Christmas theme of going simple with this post. If you are new to Slightly Coastal, I took a vow this year to keep Christmas on the simple side…hopefully leaving more time to enjoy the season. In fact, my house is decorated for Christmas and most of the items we hauled down from the attic are still sitting in the garage. Purge coming soon.
My big inspiration this year is actually so simple…double faced satin ribbon. It has such an enduring appeal and has long been established as a classic. Why not go to a tried and true this Christmas? I went with a non-traditional color and a crisp white. You’ll see more colors of double faced satin infused in my Christmas decor this year. I wanted it to still say Christmas so I used some jingle bells and a little greenery to give them a little bit of Christmas.
Sitting in my garage right now is a huge tub of ribbon and present decorating scraps. Yikes. A huge tub. My bolts of double faced satin sit nicely on the shelf in my hall closet and can be used all year round for a variety of different kinds of presents. The plain gray paper can be used throughout the year too.
Not only is this simple Christmas present wrapping going to make my holiday season easier, but it will actually make my whole year more simple. Now ribbon becomes a staple in my home much like ketchup, bread, and tape…when it is running low I’ll just replenish it. So simple.
So, this Christmas present wrapping inspiration isn’t some incredible creative wrapping masterpiece but it is inspirational in its own way. It inspires me to keep journeying down the path of living with less things, but all things I find stunning.
What moves are you making this season to have more time with those you love doing things you love to do?

You have truly given us something to think about with “simplifying” – because it is so smart! You are totally right about keeping this ribbon stocked year-round. Thanks so much for the inspiration and for hosting this wonderful hop! May you and yours have a wonderful holiday season!

I truly believe that simple things are the most beautiful and your packages are redefining the word beautiful. They are simple and French, and tie in so well with your existing decor. A job well done. And a great lesson in multiple use products helping to beautify and simply life. I’m all in for the simple. Thanks for hosting this fun blog hop! Happy Holidays to you and yours. ~~ Susie from The Chelsea Project

Nancy, first things first…thanks so much for organizing this lovely hop. I know it’s a bit like herding cats ( I may have been the cat in most need of herding), so I really appreciate all your efforts. Your gift wrapping is truly lovely and simple, just as you intended. It is so easy to get caught up in all the trappings of the season, so your mantra to stay simple is excellent advice.
Thanks again and many wishes for a lovely Thanksgiving.
Hugs, Lynn
