Do you ever have those moments in your life when you meet someone and you know instantly that you are going to be great friends?
I’ve had that happen to me over the years and I can always remember the first conversation and that moment where I knew I had met a kindred spirit.
Not too long ago I met bestie S who lives up the street and we have been vintage shopping and home styling together non-stop.
We have both tossed around the idea of running a booth at local antique mall but with full time jobs felt like it may be more than we can handle.
But our love of all things vintage and fabulous has landed us with no room to park cars in our garages. I have been watching great vintage sales on Instagram like PKLtheCellar and TrunksUpVintage for quite some time. In fact, I’ve become a little addicted to watching them because it’s so exciting to see what great item will pop up next.
Bestie S and I talked about how fun it would be to shop for vintage items and then pass them along to people who would love and cherish them as much as we would. Wouldn’t it be great to do it through Instagram rather than have a booth?
That’s when the idea was born…could we do this? Could we become entrepreneurs? Thus, the birth of 2GalsVintage.
We are taking the first step in following our passions and living in a world of design…even though this is a small step in that direction.
I debated whether or not I should share this on here.
What if it’s a big flop?
What if no one buys anything?
What if no one likes the stuff we like?
I decided part of this journey I am on to live my authentic life wouldn’t feel very authentic if I didn’t share the good and the bad. The success and the failure.
To step out in faith believing that I am meant to do this right now in this space and time.
Hopefully this will turn out good. Even if it doesn’t, I know it is just a step in my journey.
When I interviewed Julie from The Blue Heron Inn she shared that looking back, every job she ever did was actually preparing her for owning and running her own bed and breakfast.
So, tonight at 7:00 EST I will boldly take the step toward my dream.
Won’t you come along with me?
Even if it is just to be present with me?
Maybe give a word of encouragement in a comment?
Just now I sort of felt like Drew Barrymore standing on the pitching mound watching the clock tick away.
It ends happily for Drew’s character…maybe for me too.
