I’m so excited that Christmas is right around the corner and today I am sharing the Adams and Elm Home Christmas 2019 theme with you! Are you ready?
What do you think? I love the mix because it is so bright, cheery, and gives such a festive feel to the house. Festive is definitely the theme we are going for this year! My oldest is a senior in high school and it is weighing on my mind that this is the last year he will spend the whole Christmas season at home with us. Next year he will be at college studying for final exams. So, when I asked him what he wanted this year he told me he wanted the house to not feel “designer-y” but rather like a regular Christmas. Hmmmm…you don’t want the blush pink and turquoise this year? Nope. So I racked my brain trying to dream up a Christmas theme that would make him happy, yet allow me to fulfill my passion for decorating. This is what we settled on and we are both so happy! So I’ve rounded up a collection of my favorite items that fit with this theme. Enjoy some pre-holiday inspiration!
Blue & White Chinoiserie | White Plaid | Grey Plaid | Buffalo Check
Plaid Throw | White Throw | Blue & White Throw | Herringbone Throw
Carriage Ride | Santa Door | Plaid Charger | Plaid Bow | Santa Snowman
Ginger Jar | Lidded Jar | Crock | Planter

I love the warmth of the plaids mixed together. I can just see my sofa with an assortment of red plaid pillows on it for the holidays and red plaid ribbons on all my gifts under the tree nearby. I already have a collection of Santa’s but I love the new ones you found Perhaps I’ll have to add a new one to go with the plaid pillows this year! Thanks for the inspiration Nancy.

Oh, Nancy! You might want to shop my house, lol. My navy sofa is covered in throws and pillows all in red, white blues- cardinals, paisleys and plaids for winter. The white china cabinet has blue willow plates on display, and my curtains are red and white checks. I love those colors year round.
Your Santa collection is unique and adorable. Hmm, I may borrow a few ideas from you… is a room or a house ever truly “done”?

Oh yay! I had already decided on plaids (and I’ve purchased plaid wrapping paper, plaid pajamas for the whole family, plaid pillows and ribbons. . .) but I was feeling less than satisfied. It felt a little too lodge-like for my taste, I think. Adding chinoiserie to the mix is exactly what I needed! (Our living room is already blue and white, too!) Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Nancy, you are such an inspiration! I love plaids –red — and always use them at Christmas! This year I was able to find some blue plaid ribbon to use in our blue and white kitchen and dining room! It looks so pretty with our chinoiserie pieces and pine garlands.
Glad that you were able to please your son and not have your décor so designer-y! So cute! Great memories, too!
Your home is beautiful, Nancy, and you always do such a great job with your décor! Have a great week, my friend! Thanks for always sharing with us!
