I love kitchen towels. I always see so many possibilities for kitchen towels. When I look at them I see throw pillows, place mats, lining for drawers, liners for baskets, and cafe curtains, among a few. So it should come as no surprise I have an abundance of kitchen towels. I rotate them out for seasons and “just because”. My mother-in-law, for years, has rolled her kitchen towels into a small drawer. In the past, I always had a large drawer I could stack them into and never worried about space. Now, space is tight. Do you have a good for nothing drawer in your kitchen?
I have jumped on the rolling kitchen towel bandwagon and now my too small for anything else towel drawer looks like this.
Now that I have a great way to organize my towels I have room to add a few more into my collection. I spied some great ones at my favorite spots. By far my favorite kitchen towels have come from Sur la Table. I could spend hours in that store looking at all of the beautiful and handy kitchen items. Here are a few of my current favs.
Autumn, Birdcage, Deruta, Red Bicycle
They are a little pricey, but they make drying dishes a little more enjoyable, and you can get some great bargains because they are always adding new designs and closing out old ones. Like these bargains at just $5.99.
These have my name all over them. The bird towel would make a cute cafe curtain or valance. The coral would make a great throw pillow.
I also love Anthropologie for towels. Seriously, is there anything I don’t like at Anthropologie? Nope, can’t think of anything. Here are some beauties…
Of course, no list of great kitchen towels would be complete without looking at what William Sonoma has to offer. Here are a few highlights from their collection.
If your house is anything like mine, sometimes beautiful towels can be a heart-break when family members (I won’t name names) wipe up things with it that permanently stain them. I solved this by using my beautiful towels to dry dishes only. I put a hook in the pantry where the “dish towel” hangs so it isn’t a quick grab to wipe up spilled grape juice, a little trick I learned from my mother.
Hope you’re having a great week!

I know! They are almost too pretty to use on pots/pans/dishes…almost. :-
