It’s back! Textile Tuesday has once again resumed. I sort of lost the textile warmth in my heart before Christmas. I think it was all of the glittery, sparkly decorations that distracted me from my textile inspiration. Now that the Christmas decorations are neatly put away…ahem…in the garage waiting for honey to put them in the attic, my vision has cleared again and new inspiration has hit me. Today’s focus, Greek key pattern.
Um, yes please! Pam from Simple Details really hit it out of the park with this one, don’t you think? I love that she elevated the Greek Key pattern to total textile perfection.
Trimming a curtain with Greek Key pattern elevates from a common curtain to something spectacular. The trim to do this is actually quite affordable and can be found at most fabric stores. Glue or sew it on to some plain store bought curtain panels and they suddenly become custom.
I also really love the Greek Key pattern found in textiles as a whole, like this fabric from Claridge. Right now it is only $9.98 a yard from Fabric Guru. The Greek Key pattern in coastal colors have me swooning.
If a more subtle look is needed, try doing what Amanda from Dixie Delights did and create a simple Greek Key pattern on a plain curtain panel. For those of you who read here often, I totally have a crush on this room. In fact, it is the design inspiration for my upcoming Master Bedroom design.
There are all sorts of tutorials on Pinterest to teach you how to sew a Greek Key Pattern. I am really partial to the traditional trim. The Greek Key pattern has had its ups and downs in terms of popularity. I will say, classic never truly goes out of style. It may not stay the “latest thing” but it will stay.
I’m ending this post with some sources to have Greek Key items at the door in a jiffy, if that is more your inclination. Sometimes getting that box is just as rewarding as doing it yourself. Leave me a comment and let me know which one is your favorite.
