It is no secret to those that know me that I love textiles. In fact, it is usually the jumping off point for me in any room. I look to textiles for texture, mood, color combinations, and inspiration. Today’s focus is going to be coastal fabric, but in future weeks I will feature a variety of textiles(towels; rugs; bedding etc….). Here are some of the great fabrics I have run across to add a coastal feel to any room. The first fabric would be great in a more informal room or would be great in a child’s bedroom.
I bought a yard of this next fabric and plan to make some pillow covers out of it. I am not sure if they will go on my bed or in the family room.
I think this fabric would be great in a child’s bedroom and could be used for all sorts of things. It would even make a great nautical tablecloth/runner for a child’s Pirate themed birthday party.
This next fabric is so fun because it is a fresh twist on a traditional lobster print. I love the green color. This would be great as pillow covers or fun table linens. A yard or two would go a long way in bringing a little

I love this brown version of a coastal fabric. I think it would look so smart with coastal blue accents or even a coral/orange color!
There are so many great coastal fabrics to be used. I have a hard time picking just one. if you have neutral backdrop to your room you can switch these in and out at your discretion. How fun is that?
