Can you feel it? Spring is in the air!
Spring has felt like it is on its way for a few weeks now here in Florida, but I did see on the news yesterday that even New York and the upper parts of America are getting a reprieve from the cold. I hope the little spot of spring has headed your way.
In honor of the warmer air I decided to make some topiaries. I love topiaries but they can be a little pricey. So, as I usually do, I decided to take on making them myself.
I made two different topiaries.
I picked up a pair of these little metal stools at the flea market the other day and I just think they are so cute. They’ll be getting a paint job soon.
I love the weathered and worn little terra cotta pot I bought at Hobby Lobby. On this topiary I decided to use some flower stems. I love the pop of white. It just looks so cheery.
For the greenery topiary I used a cute enamelware pot I also bought at Hobby Lobby. I love the pop of black and the different shape.
I’ve been making some big changes around here and can’t wait to share them all with you! It’s fun to finally be creating the home that was in my head.
By the way, do you follow me on Instagram? If you do, I saved the tutorial for these topiaries in my highlights reel on my Instagram page. It looks like this.
I would love to have you take a look at the tutorial and follow along. I try to give glimpses of what’s happening around the house that hasn’t made it quite to the blog. I hope you have an awesome day and if you want to save this project for later…don’t forget to pin it.

My goodness, Nancy, you have been so busy! You make me tired just looking at all the things you accomplish! The topiaries you made are lovely! I love to craft but I have never considered making a topiary! However, you have motivated me to make one — at least! They are both so darn cute! I love them! I love your vignette on your table. Love all your touches of Spring! Did you make that lovely wooden tray? It’s so cute! You are just so gifted and everything you do just turns out looking so nice. I have a few clay pots just waiting to be used. I love the clay pots and especially when they have started to turn white and are so weathered looking.
Spring will be coming eventually and we are so ready for it this year since we were not able to get away and winter on South Padre Island, Texas like we usually do. We are getting more snow tomorrow and the wind is going to pick up as well! The lake out in front of our home has about 5 feet of ice! This has been an extremely harsh winter. When we started going south for the winter, we gave our snowmobiles away to our nephew and niece. So, we can’t even enjoy snowmobiling this winter!
Nancy, you live in such a lovely area! You never have to worry about snow storms, icy roads, etc.
Hope you are having a great week! Thanks, again, for your posts! I always enjoy reading them! You always do such a fabulous job of explaining everything and you always motivate your readers to get busy and make whatever! Your home is so beautiful, Nancy, and you have done such a wonderful job of adding all your personal touches! Your home should be in a magazine! Your home is exceptional because you have done everything yourself! Like I have said before, I just don’t know how you manage to do all you do! Take care! And make sure you take some time to enjoy the beautiful spring flowers!
Blessings!

Mary-Ann,
Snow again? My goodness. I’ll be thinking of you and wishing for warmer weather to come your way. I remember those long winters as a child. Thank you so much for your sweet words. :). I picked up the tray on the table over Christmas in Wisconsin at a thrift. It was only $3.99…what a steal. It’s true I’ve become motivated again to work on my home. I think after Christmas I just needed a little time to regroup because it’s just always so busy. Sometimes it just takes one piece to get my wheels turning and that’s what happened. I found the most beautiful buffet and am going to be sharing it’s makeover on Thursday. I also rearranged the furniture and did some rug swapping. A little moving things around always give me a new perspective as well. Plus, I have been trying to eat healthy and not snack so when I get home from work I put on my tennis shoes and get busy rather than “taking a break”. I can’t wait for you to see the buffet! Have a great day Mary-Ann!

Even though we have had some warmer days this week, it seems like the weather here during this time of year is like a yo-yo! Temps in the 40’s one day and 70’s the next….I love your handmade topiaries! I have made several mainly using a faux boxwood round ball….Glad you are experiencing the signs of Spring in paradise!!
