Have you ever decided you were going to go all out and make something amazing and spent countless hours planning, purchasing, crafting, and fixing, only to have it just be a complicated mess? Then you sit down and wonder why you even tried and vow you aren’t going to do that again. Next time, you are just going to keep it simple right? Don’t worry, I sheepishly put my hand up too. We’ve all done it.
But nope…not today!
This project was so easy, I was able to accomplish it in less time than it took the New England Patriots to come back and beat our Jacksonville Jaguars. The best part? When it was all done I sat down and marveled at it and vowed to do more things like this.
Who doesn’t love a little grain sack in their life? I wish I had some vintage grain sacks but alas, I don’t. So…I decided to create my own with some card stock. This hardly needs a tutorial. I mean really…(1) cut out hearts, (2) use ruler and a red Sharpie to draw grain sack stripes, (3) punch holes in hearts, (4) string twine to hang. A no brainer right?
I’m vowing to keep things simple this year and create “moments” in my home without a big production. This didn’t involve multiple trips to the craft store. My kids didn’t witness a total breakdown when it didn’t turn out the way I planned. My husband didn’t have to fain interest as I vented, “why does every other blogger have project that just turn out?” It was a win…even if the Jaguars lost.
We’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day at home. I think it is so much easier than trying to get a table in a restaurant. I’ll be keeping that meal simple too.
These shelves have been such a game-changer in our house. Emptying the dishwasher is really fast and I love how easy it is to keep my kitchen together.
I loved this little bit of extra cheer when I fixed my coffee this morning. By the way, did you spot the new fancy coffee machine I received for Christmas? A review about that will be coming soon. It’s another game-changer.
I hope you have a fantastic day! I’m sending you all the hearts. Thanks so much for stopping by for my little project today. I would love to know if you decorate for Valentine’s?
