So Close To Amazing Giveaway

So Close To Amazing is the incredible book written by my sweet friend, Karianne Wood.  It’s the best book I’ve read all year.  Here’s why.

This past summer I had the pleasure of attending the Haven conference in Atlanta, GA.  It is a conference held each year for DIY and design bloggers to learn new tech skills, photography skills, connect with companies, and connect with each other.

It’s a whirlwind of conversations and classes that left my head spinning.  But you know what my favorite part was?  Meeting my friend Karianne in person.  Over the past few years we have messaged and e-mailed and chatted on the phone…but never actually met in person.  She was so inspiring.

It wasn’t because of her bigger than life personality (although that is infectious too).  It wasn’t because of her amazing storytelling.  It wasn’t even because of the blog and business advice she shares so readily with anyone who seeks it out.  It wasn’t because of her incredible decor and design skills.

It was because she is a role model in the highest form.  She’s the Charles Barkley of being amazing.  The Fonz jumping the sharks of being yourself.  The Gretzky of finding your own path.

As I spent the weekend at the conference I continued to be amazed at the group of mostly women who gathered there because, at their core, they have something they want to share with the world.  Some glimpse of creativity, design, storytelling, and crafting.  But the bigger picture?  We all want what Karianne has accomplished…walking your own path with courage, belief, and faith.

As she delivered the keynote speech she shared her journey.  The journey that has lead to the publication of this amazing book filled with stories that will make you laugh and cry all at the same time.  Stories filled with heart and inspiration.  Stories of struggles and overcoming.  Stories of hysterical moments and embarrassing situations.  Stories of love and faith.
