I’m so excited to be kicking off the first round of the Autumn Gatherings Fall Blog Hop. If you have made your way here from Dixie Delights, welcome! This series is filled with bloggers who have inspiring design and fabulous homes. Each day two inspiring bloggers will post a fall tour, project, craft etc…I can’t wait to see what they all have in store in the upcoming days.
I had so much fun creating a coastal feel this fall. This is different than any fall decorating I have done in the past. I figured, while in Rome….
I don’t have a fireplace mantle in this home so my 9′ long special buffet serves as my back up mantle. I had so much fun creating a really long vignette of coastal fall goodness.
This antique clock has a beautiful bell chime that I adore. I kept it coastal by adding a coastal bird and a few pumpkins. At night when I turn on the lamp, it lights up beautifully and I have to tell the bird just how cute he really is.
I wanted the French coastal feel of having a basket with plates and a lovely fabric in it so we would be ready for a impromptu picnic on the beach or have friends over for a quick bite to eat. Would that happen? No. But it sure does look pretty.
I found this little tool caddie at a local antique mall a while back when it practically leaped off the shelf into my basket. It was in my coffee station until my milk glass collection took over. I glued the coastal starfish and sand dollars on it and I think it looks great filled with fall goodies.
I’m just in love with boxwood balls right now. I’ve always been smitten with boxwood wreaths, but I must admit boxwood balls and I have been having a moment. Because we have a 3 year old in the house we don’t actually burn anything with an open flame very often. I love this alternative to a candle for decor. I used one on my coffee table as well.
I had such a hard time with this centerpiece. I have quite a collection of trays and I really couldn’t decide what I wanted here. I do love the details on this tray and the juxtaposition between the light urn and the dark tray mixed with the greens and blues. My poor MIL received about a gazillion text messages with pictures asking her opinion.
I painted my sweet pumpkins with Annie Sloan in Duck Egg. The paint gives them a softness. I chose not to wax them because they almost have a chenille look to them.
We moved my mismatched French Hutch out of the kitchen area and into the dining room. It houses my collection of Milk Glass and now a few special pumpkins and pieces to pull it into the season. I think Milk Glass and coastal mix really well together. What do you think?
I like a simple design to our credenza in the foyer. I’m not going to name names, but there are people in this house who drop everything on this piece of furniture. The more I put on it, the more will “accidentally fall off”. I fell in love with these candlesticks with the flower feel. I picked them up at Tuesday Morning when they were on clearance. The basket is also another Tuesday morning find.
I filled the basket with seashells and a barnacle. Then I added in some fall pumpkins and an artichoke. I love the coastal feel to the space without it screaming coastal.
I planned on doing a full non-traditional coastal fall home this year but I couldn’t escape one pop of the orange. I love the orange of a pumpkin against classic blue and white porcelain. The one pop of orange in our home.
I have yet to do our front porch. It feels strange to do it because we are still headed to the beach every day and the weather has been in the low 90’s. That should be coming up in the next few weeks.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of my fall coastal home. Be sure to click on over to see Amanda’s gorgeous home at Dixie Delights. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Her house is ah-mazing. Be sure to visit all the lovely homes on this blog hop in the coming days.
Hope you have a fantastic day.

Your home is just beautiful. I love how your personality shines through. I hope to be half the decorator you are when I am done with a few rooms in this big old house. I loved your milk glass collection and have one myself. Something about milk glass just adds that pristine feel to yesteryear. Thank you for having me in the Fall Home Tour. I have enjoyed it very much.
