The other day I purchased something I haven’t seen or used in forever ago. JeanNate body powder. I think it is part of my recent obsession with throwback colors and scents. Colors that remind me of my childhood. You see, I am a child of the 70’s. A time of tobacco colored shoes with large rubber soles, navy corduroy overalls, and the smell of JeanNate. So it is no wonder when I started spotting this color combo in everything from fashion to home decor, I became obsessed. So let’s go down the navy and tobacco color combo together shall we?
For me, it always starts in fashion and then trickles down into home decor. Even though right now it is 96 degrees outside, I could totally see wearing this into fall. It’s important to note the tobacco color should be what we think of when we think of a good cigar. So let’s talk navy and tobacco in home decor. It started in Emily Henderson’s living room for me. She is so far ahead, she had this look in 2013 (or maybe I’m just way behind). 🙂
Then I spotted navy and tobacco on another one of my new obsessions, Stone House Revival with Jeff Devlin, but can’t locate any images online for it. Seriously, you should watch his show. Amazing. I ran across this beautiful space designed by Kris from Driven by Decor.
Navy walls have been popular the last few years. Many people painted their walls navy and I loved the look then too. I think adding the tobacco color in will make it even more modern. I recently spotted it in Marion’s living room (AKA Miss Mustard Seed).
Oh my. Doesn’t it just look homey and comfortable and makes you want to watch football? Okay, maybe not football but for sure I could relax in this space with a good book.
Isn’t this kitchen in this tiny house just the cutest? So, if you are having a moment with navy and tobacco like me, how can you incorporate it into your life? Well, the easiest is to do it in fashion. Pair some tobacco accessories with some navy. I know I am on the hunt for the perfect tobacco handbag to carry me into fall. If I find a good one, I’ll be sure to let you know. Here are some other navy and tobacco home decor choices.
Navy and Tobacco Home Decor Options
- Pair some navy and tobacco pillows together on a neutral sofa or neutral bed.
- Have a beige bathroom? Perfect! Grab some navy towels and use some tobacco baskets to create the color combo.
- Pull the color combo onto you dining table by using some tobacco chargers/placemats (woven or wood) and some navy plates.
- Look for a navy throw blanket for the fall and place a tobacco colored tray on your coffee table.
- Frame some black and white photos in tobacco colored wood frames and mat them in navy.
What are your thoughts on the combo of navy and tobacco? Is it a hit, or, is it a miss?

Love that outfit – especially the purse and shoes! I like the colors in the living room a lot. I’ve always thought people who dressed in navy and khaki looked so professional and sophisticated. I could use a room full of sophistication!
