Y’all I’m so excited to kick off the first of several blog hops I’m taking part in. There is so much awesome Christmas inspiration coming your way! You ready?
I was thrilled when Jennifer and Vicki from 2 Bees In A Pod contacted me about showing one of my Christmas rooms as part of their Come Home For Christmas hop. I adore blog hops because as a reader myself, I love to see what people are doing in their homes and it makes it so convenient to click from one to the next. A lot of times, that’s how I find new blogs I love.
So…if you hopped over from another blog, welcome! I’m Nancy. I’ve been slowly turning our Florida Island home into our own French Country Coastal cottage.
I’m using non-traditional colors in my decor this year, so you’ll be greeted by some frosty pink hydrangeas mixed with other Christmas greenery. I also love the darker brass and gold tones this year. I’ve used touches of this color combo throughout my home.
We have a narrow long entryway to our home so I always have a mirror in this space to bounce the light and make it feel a little larger.
I’m a big believer in using a lot of your decor that you already own and making it a little “Christmasy” rather than packing away everything you own to bring out all the Christmas stuff. All of these items except the deer and the Christmas tree normally live in this space. I added bows and a few ornaments to bring in the Christmas vibe.
I’m also having a bit of an obsession with double-faced satin ribbon this year. I ordered a bunch of it and have been adding bits of it throughout my home and on packages.
This jardiniere is worth its weight in gold. Just last week it held little pumpkins and acorns and now it is filled with Christmas decor. Almost every item in this space came from an estate sale of thrift store. I found this sweet jardiniere stacked with some silver platters at my local thrift and practically ran to the check out with it like a football under my arm. ๐
I really love the mix of refined looking things and old palette wood. I added this pallet wood top to this entryway piece and have loved the rustic quality it brings to the space.
I have our Christmas card holder all set to start receiving cards in the mail. I love opening the mail in December and finding letters and notes from all our friends and family.
I hope you enjoyed this first look at my Christmas home. I have been on a quest to keep it simple this year and get it done. I have made an oath to myself that I am going to enjoy the season and not spend hours and hours decorating and shopping when I should be watching Christmas movies with the kids, baking cookies, and experiencing Christmas. I’m off to a good start with most of the house decorated and most of the Christmas presents purchased. :). How did Black Friday go for you? Did you get it all done?
Please make sure to visit the other bloggers I am hopping with today. They have some great spaces to see! Plus make sure to come back to see the posts from the different rooms all through the week!

Nancy, everything is so beautiful and lovely! I adore your color scheme this year too. It looks so good with the way the rest of your home is decorated. I’m totally with you it’s all about keeping it simple and celebrating all the fun adventures that come with Christmas. Big hugs, CoCo
Thank you so much Coco! I’m loving keeping it simple this year.
You’ve created a beautiful space, Nancy! I think the frosty pink works so well with the deep brass. Definitely the perfect combo of Florida & Christmas ๐
Thanks Brittany. I still can’t quite get used to the warmth at Christmas yet. Although it is growing on me.
Nancy
Nancy, your foyer and door are beautiful…..love the colors you are using this year as they are perfect for your wonderful coastal living….looking forward to seeing more of your beautifully decorated rooms!
Thank you sweet Shirley! I’m loving the Christmas decor you have been posting. So gorgeous!
Greetings from Manasota Key! Not having snow for Christmas might be something I could get used too, especially as I am enjoying your wonderful Florida weather. And ribbon….oh yeah!
Wow! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy your Florida time.
Nancy
Your space is beautiful! The sideboard is stunning and I looooove the wood top. I am also a big believer in making your year round decor Christmasy rather than packing it away. What a beautiful foyer!
Thanks Rachel! The wood top was a fun project this past summer. This simple approach to decor is already paying off. Way less stress.
Nancy
I love everything about this! I love the basket on your door so much! Beautiful!
Thank you! That basket was a gift from my SIL a few years back but I recently saw it in Hobby Lobby on an end cap in the floral department.
Nancy
Your Christmas entryway is absolutely gorgeous Nancy! The evergreens, hydrangeas and bells look stunning on your door. It definitely makes me want to find a basket for our front porch now :). Pinning!
Hi Tara! Thank you so much! I just saw the same basket at Hobby Lobby the other day. I’ve had mine for a few years…
Nancy
Your foyer is gorgeous!! I love that you have a room for a festive tree!
Thanks Meg! It was fun to add the tree to the space this year. It’s unlit and just a nice addition.
Nancy
I love integrating non-traditional in with traditional holiday elements and colors; you did a beautiful job of that! I adore your door hanging and love your vintage elements mixed into your decor. Beautiful space Nancy!
Thank you Lydi! I love collecting vintage one of a kind items. My heart skips a beat when I see something fab at the thrift store.
Nancy
Love everything you did here, Nancy! With the mixing of the gold and silver and adding a touch of pink, it’s all so pretty! Also loving that pallet wood top. Thanks for joining us on the blog hop!
Your entry way is so pretty Nancy! I love the soft colors you used!
Thank you so much Cindy! Have a great weekend. Nancy

Thank you Jeanette! I think soft colors will be where I am at for a while. Have a great weekend.
Nancy
Yaaaayyyy for keeping things simple this year!??? your entryway is so lovely- and Iโm with you- I love the contrast between grit and glam/ rustic and refined. Youโve executed it perfectly here. What a fabulous space! Merry Christmas!??
Thank you so much Sarah! I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
Nancy
Hi, Nancy! It’s so nice to have found you! I really like your style; it seems perfect for Florida! ๐ Also, so smart to only bring out a few things for Christmas and tweak what you already have to be more “Christmasy.” Much easier than hauling out the boxes and packing them all away again!
Thank you Bre! Things have been a lot easier with the simplified approach to seasonal decor. Plus, it still feels Christmasy around here. ๐
Nancy
Everything looks SO pretty! LOVE the rustic wood top on that sideboard!
Thank you Kristi! I added the wood when I did a pallet challenge. It’s one of my favorite DIY projects.
Nancy
I LOVE your pink/gold combo. So very pretty!
Cheers – Kristy
Thank you so much Kristy! That combination is a good one. Have a great weekend.
Nancy
So pretty! I love all of the gold accents! And I totally agree with you on adding touches of Christmas instead of putting all of the normal decor away!
Thank you Nicole!
I adore your mix of pinks with your evergreen and Christmas decor – it’s unexpected but works so well together! I also love how you’ve mixed holiday touches with your regular year-round decor!
Thanks Emily! I promised myself I was going to keep it simple this year. Have a great weekend.
Nancy
Absolute perfection! I think adding bows to the regular decor is a brilliant idea. I need to add more Christmas bows.
Thanks Kati! It is amazing what a bow can do. :). Have a great weekend.
Nancy
Gorgeous! Everything looks beautiful and elegant!
Thank you Samantha!
Nancy, your home is absolutely gorgeous! I love your non-traditional Christmas color palette. Itโs so refreshing! Iโm still giggling about your jardiniere thrift store story. ?
Thanks Sarah. I have great thrift stores here on the island. People buy a condo and just haul everything to the thrift store and start fresh which means great stuff travels through all the time. It can be competitive. I once had to sit down on a pair of chairs while my mother went to the cash register because women were starting to swarm around them. ๐
Nancy
Your entryway looks beautiful! It’s such a smart idea to use what you have and add elements to make it fit in with the holiday.
Yes. It has made everything a lot more easy this year. No hauling and packing away of decor. Thank you so much Jenny!
