I’ve been adding Halloween to our little abode bit by bit. Today I thought I would share a little Halloween vignette with you. When I was adding the bats to the wall, Luke stood there and then told me, “Mom, you’re turning our house into a haunted house.” Not too haunted though.
The “worm” song in our house is a Halloween favorite so I knew I wanted to incorporate it into this Halloween vignette. We have temporarily suspended our menu so we can have our creepy song on the chalkboard. Luke asked us what they are eating that makes them fat. We told him Halloween candy. 🙂
I printed the words to the song out using PicMonkey and used it to put the lettering on the chalkboard. I think I’m going to have some fun with this chalkboard over the next few months. If you have a chalkboard, go buy some colored chalk…it just makes it so much more fun.
Some of the items in this Halloween vignette have been in my stash of Halloween “stuff” for years. Other items are new. The plate was picked up at T.J. Maxx and the jute lamp was a creation I came up with a few weeks back. I would encourage you use the items you have stored away and sprinkle them throughout your home.
I think every Halloween vignette needs a little bit of scary…in this case a skeleton. I found the little black garland at the Target Dollar Spot for just a buck and the skeletons from the Dollar Tree. It totally fits in my rule of home decor.
The Rule: If it costs less than a fancy cocktail…I don’t even ponder the purchase. It goes into my cart.
We are just a few days away from the big night. My oldest cherishes his little brother on Halloween even more than any other day because he is really too old to trick or treat…but everyone likes a big brother who takes his little brother trick or treating. He still winds up with candy. Thanks little brother.
I want to give you a little sneak peek at what I have lined up for Friday. I haven’t done a tablescape in a while so I thought I would share one I pulled together for a weeknight dinner for the family.
Have a fantastic day!
