I know March madness has been over for a few months now, but I dream of dribbling up to the three point line, taking a shot…and…nothing but net.
That’s kinda how I feel about this One Room Challenge, except this one was accomplished through “nothing but time and money”. Isn’t that the root of everything? Time and money.
Nothing but net…
Right? I would love to say this was so easy and it all just came together without any real effort, but that would be a lie. I had the silly notion that after I completed the shiplap wall, everything else would be cake. I always think it is going to be easy and then I take on one project after another.
Here is what I started with…
I think you will find the after so much more refreshing, clean, simple, calming.
Right?
I have a few pieces of trim that aren’t up…that is on purpose. I’m going to wrap the shiplap around the wall and take it into the kitchen and will put up the top trim piece when I have all the shiplap up.
I love this white mirror. It was one of my all time favorite thrift store finds…like ever.
A few coastal pillows on the settee make it a comfy place to curl up with a cup of coffee.
The hutch filled with milk glass was another paint project I took on. I also added the wood backing.
I had some fun setting the table with one of my favorite collectible, oyster plates.
Right now I have five plates. I thought about putting them on the wall but really just wanted to keep things clean and simple. I need more clean and simple in my life. It feels like exhaling.
Okay…I’m just going to give you what you really want. A ton of photos of the space.
Ready. Set. Go.

I didn’t think I’d like a white mirror on a white wall. It is beautiful.
I can just see some kind of bowl or container sitting in the roped part of the chandelier You could change it or at least the contents with the seasons. Just a thought.
Thanks Kathy! I thought for sure I was going to paint the mirror black but when I put it up there for scale I noticed the differing tones of white kinda looked cool so I left it. LOL. I just looked over at the chandelier as I am typing this and can totally see a bowl or something cradled in that spot. Maybe I’ll do something at Christmas. Thanks for the idea.

Turned out very pretty, and very welcoming. Love the oyster plates! I am always on the lookout for vintage ones, and they are hard to find. I do have 12 turquoise ones from France that I grabbed at the Alameda Flea market, and I keep threatening to get them up on our site, but I just can’t seem to part with them.
