Over the years, it is safe to say, I have developed quite the obsession with monograms. When I started seeing custom monograms pop-up my obsession grew even more. But have you priced a custom monogram from a big time embroidery shop? Holy cow. It’s like a car payment.
Let me see…drive for a month or have a custom monogram? Actually, that would be a pretty close call for me. 🙂
When I discovered Pam of Shuler Studios on Etsy, my heart fluttered and I became giddy. She offers custom and ready made monograms for such an affordable price! I have to be truthful, I went to her about collaborating on this because I just knew y’all needed to know about this. I want to thank Pam for collaborating with me on this post.
Her monograms can be used for stationary (which I’ll show you) and so many other applications.
I first found her while searching for a monogram for my sister-in-law because I wanted to have a throw blanket monogrammed for Christmas. It was so easy.
I went to her Etsy shop and searched my sister-in-law’s initials and the monogram popped up. Her monogram was beautiful right from the start. I took the file Pam sent me to my local embroiderer and she had a company create a version that is compatible for use on embroidery machines.
It will be the gift that keeps on giving because not only will I give her the monogram blanket, but I will also give her a flash drive with all the digital files on it so she can create and monogram until her heart is content.
It was so beautiful I did what I do every Christmas…”one for you, one for me”. Do you do that? Sometimes I just can’t resist. But when I searched for my initials, I was a little disappointed. You see, my last name starts with “I” and finding a good “I” is next to impossible. I opened a conversation with Pam on Etsy and asked about the possibility of collaborating on a custom monogram. I didn’t have my hopes up though, because even a custom monogrammed “I” would probably be sub-par. Boy, was I wrong!
Within a few hours she e-mailed me with my custom monogram and I nearly cried. My husband and I have been married for 22 years and in all that time I hadn’t found an “I” to love. But her version? It was stunning. It was the most beautiful “I” I’ve ever seen. It was everything I have ever wanted rolled up into one beautiful custom monogram.
I quickly created some stationary with my new monogram just in time for Christmas. I used PicMonkey and Microsoft Word to create this beautiful stationary and it was so simple to do.
I had some fun creating stationary for other members of my family.
I wondered if you would want to know how to create stationary you could print right at home for yourself or for a last minute Christmas gift and I went to work on a tutorial. All you need is a computer, internet connection, Word, and a printer and you too can give beautiful stationary this year even at the last minute.
As a special little Christmas present for you, because I’m so sweet on y’all, I’m giving you a foundation for creating your own. A short cut. Who doesn’t love a short cut? Just right click on the below photo and save it to your pictures. As long as you don’t change the size of it you should be able to use it to create a custom 4.25 x 5.5 inch note card like pictured.
You can receive the full tutorial (for free) by subscribing to Slightly Coastal below. If you already subscribe, Merry Christmas, it will be waiting in your inbox shortly. 🙂
Hope you are having a wonderful Holiday season!
Much love,
