Today’s post is a gathering of inspiring photos and products I plan to incorporate into the design of this new home. My jumping off point…the gorgeous pillows of Jolie March.
Her pillow covers can be purchased through her Etsy Shop.
I am a big believer in keeping things neutral and then adding in those pieces that really pop. Her pillows would be the star of the show on any neutral based chair, sofa, or bed. Textiles have always been my splurge (if you could see my boxes of fabric you would know).
I have also always been inspired by Sarah Richardson. I love her design elements, especially her lakeside getaway she featured on her series Sarah’s Cottage. I love the feel she created in this room.
I would love to say I am one of those people who would design a room and then keep it just that way for several years (sometimes I envy those people), but I always end up wanting to change things up a bit. This neutral background would make it easy to go in a different direction by changing out pillows and other fabrics.
Then there is this…
This chair byNadia Hursky is just “it”. I love all things French Country and have quite a collection of my own pieces. I am going to incorporate them into this new coastal style. This is how I imagine people on the French Riviera live. Having never been there, I don’t know, but I can imagine it. What do you think? Do you like a neutral backdrop or do you go all out for color and pattern in those big pieces?
