So did you slay it on Black Friday or are you still shopping like crazy on Cyber Monday? I pretty much finished on Black Friday. I just have a few items to order today and I will totally be done. Then begins the wrapping marathon! I’ve teamed up with a few of my bestie blogger friends to bring you some Christmas wrapping inspiration.
If you hopped on over from one of my friends…welcome! I’m Nancy and I’m working on making this “new to us” house into a real home.
This year I’m going personal. I’m so inspired by all of the beautiful graphic signs that are everywhere but my home decor style isn’t really conducive to signs. I definitely have a farmhouse twist but my true love is French Country. So I decided to put all that beautiful script I see everywhere on my packages.
This is just plain wrapping paper and a Sharpie. Simply pull up some inspiration on Pinterest and try to mimic it. I used a pencil to first write out to the wording and then went back with a Sharpie to fill it in. Of course, I wrapped the present first so I could center it on the package.
This year I am also mixing ribbons on a lot of my packages. I love mixing fabric in this way in my home so I decided mixing ribbon would just be a normal thing. Follow the rule of mixing a large print ribbon with a small print ribbon (or words in this case). I think it gives some extra interest to the package.
I also used some old stamps I had left over from my scrapbooking days to stamp my niece’s name on this package. You could use the Sharpie to do a script name on the front or a monogram. So many possibilities to personalize it.
Have you seen some of the laser cut ribbons? I found this Christmas Tree ribbon at JoAnn Fabric and Craft and I love the simple statement it makes on plain paper. I find this works best if you use hot glue to secure it to the package. Tape doesn’t seem to last (ask me how I know).
So don’t be afraid to break out that Sharpie! Have some fun with it and make it personal. Here are some other ideas I had and will be using as I wrap all my Black Friday purchases.
- Make a monogram
- Verse from a song with notes
- Funny movie quotes
- Bible Verse
- Clue about what is inside
I hope this gets your wheels turning. Happy wrapping friends!

What a great idea about using script on packages. My traditional decor doesn’t lend itself to printed art either. So, of course, I’m thrilled to have this idea handy. You are just so clever! And your packages look fabulous. Thanks for organizing this hop. It’s so fun to share and gather ideas. XOXO ~~ Susie from The Chelsea Project

You are definitely the Queen of Mixing Cool Patterns so it’s no surprise to see you nail it on mixing ribbons like this too lady. Thanks so much for the tip on how to get the laser ribbon to stay in place, I’ve been struggling to keep mine from slipping down the packages because I wasn’t sure how to attach it. I love the way you’ve decided to personalize everything this year. It’s all really pretty. I can’t wait to see more. Thank you for putting this blog hop together. Hugs, CoCo
