Today I am sharing my Christmas breakfast nook with you!. I love this space in this new house. I was asked recently by someone to show what piece of home decor/furniture I am most thankful for. That was an easy decision for me.
Hubby and I are closing in on our 24th wedding anniversary. It’s so hard to believe it has already been 24 years! Where does the time go?
When we were first married and bought our very first home, we bought bedroom furniture. We picked up this dresser (the bottom portion of this hutch) at an import store in Dallas and we were so excited to have real furniture. No more college hand-me-downs and furniture that we picked up along the way. We felt so grown up.
Do you know what I remember about this most? All our clothing, for both of us, fit in this one small dresser and I had two slim candlestick lamps on top. It was real grown up furniture. I don’t think I will ever part with this piece.
I don’t think I shared this table with you either. I found it on Craigslist for $50 and I was so thrilled. It was stained a dark cherry color and the top had a few scratches. I sanded it down and painted it with Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey. I kept the top natural and just put a protective sealer on it. I love the chunky legs and the extra details on the bottom of the table. I think I danced to Eye of The Tiger in my van as I pulled away from her house with this beauty.
I’ve dressed this space up with lots of bottle brush trees and natural elements. I hand knit the chunky runner on the table after watching a You Tube video on how to make a chunky throw. I mostly did it because I didn’t have enough yarn to make a throw, and I have to say…I love the effect on the table.
Besides this Christmas breakfast nook I have more Christmas coming your way over the next few weeks. I actually decorated early this year and have made a serious dent on my Christmas shopping. December is shaping up to be reeeaaaalll nice Clark. 🙂
Isn’t this little basket just so cute? I want like 5 more to put in every room.
