If you’ve been around here the last six weeks you know I embarked on the challenge of renovating/decorating a room in my home in just five short weeks. I was not alone on this endeavor. Over 200 other bloggers took up the same challenge and worked on rooms of their own. It was interesting to visit each of their projects during the weeks to see the twists and turns they went through on their rooms. Today I thought I would share with you some of my favorite rooms from other guest participants. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in because there are some amazing rooms coming your way.
This room exploded onto the One Room Challenge scene and was completed by Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles. She has been a featured ORC designer on past seasons and it is clear to see why. She’s not afraid of color and she is bold in her choices. This one really paid off because it is stunning.
Brittany from House Plus Love created an amazing room that is so up my alley. The details in this room are brilliant. I love the tassels, lamps, chair, pouf, and everything else in this room. I’m swooning over the beautiful ginger jar.
Tiffany from Worthwhile Domicile took on the double/maybe triple challenge of doing a bathroom for the ORC. I’ve been there and done that and let me tell you…it is so much of a challenge. Her project turned out beautifully. Every finish in the room is perfection and the treatment to the tub? You just have to see that.
Kristin from Postbox Designs had one of my most favorite spaces going over the course of five weeks and she did not disappoint. I’m a little more than mildly obsessed with a homework space for my kids. I may be talking crazy, but I think my dining room is on its way out and a homework area inspired by Kristin is on its way in. Isn’t this space awesome?
I had to include my friend CoCo’s home office makeover. CoCo blogs over at The Crowned Goat and was the first other blogger I met in real life because we live near each other. The transformation of this space is so pretty. It is calming, neutral, textural, and so much her aesthetic. It fits her design personality perfectly.
This next space is a two for one. Created by Jana Donohoe from Jana Donohoe Designs, this space is a complete master bedroom and bathroom. It was so hard for me to pick which space to pull the picture for because the bedroom is just as gorgeous as the bathroom. But it was the tile. This tile had me. You have to click over to see the rest. Beautiful.
The gals over at Suburban Bitches created this incredible room. Hello ceiling! If you know me at all, you know I love a good ceiling and this one is so chic. Genius! Plus the white and the bright pink just stole my heart. The details in this room are amazing. I need those lamp shades in my life…just sayin’
For the farmhouse lovers out there, I have a kitchen makeover from Holli of Bees N Burlap. It is amazing what a little white paint can do to transform outdated cabinets. She pulls in some great farmhouse details making it a space you will want to study.
This pretty space by Lory of Designthusiasm had me with all of the tiny details. Every single item in this space looks like it was lovingly curated for the exquisite detail. I know I would like to be greeted at the back door by a space that looks like this.
Finally, Angela from Blue I Style created this jaw dropping master bathroom. The graphic quality of this space has me dreaming of contrasting elements. I love how dramatic it is.
So there you have it. My ten favorite rooms by other guest participants of the One Room Challenge. Here are some things I’m taking away:
- Black is back. I saw more black in rooms than I’ve seen in a long time and I couldn’t be happier
- Graphic tile is still having a moment in tile design and it is so very pretty
- Pull color down onto the floor or up onto the ceiling…or both! I saw more colorful rugs coming back in there were some great ceiling treatments in this line-up.
- Go big or go home. It seems like design is moving away from everything being neutral and moving toward making a bold statement in decor. That’s not for everyone…I love a neutral as much as the next girl. I just thought it was interesting.
So what room was your favorite? I would love to know! What elements do you think you would want to try out in your home and which ones would you leave behind? Leave a comment so we can all discuss. 🙂

A million times over, Nancy, thank you so much for including me in this group. It was so much fun to be a part of this challenge. I still can’t believe how quickly the 6 weeks went by. I swear I was eating, sleeping and breathing the ORC on a daily basis ha ha! I love how everything came together for your media room. The details you chose are stunning . I love all of the elements you chose! Hugs, CoCo
