It’s almost that time of year again. When bloggers all over the internet embark on redecorating/renovating a room in just 5 short weeks as part of the One Room Challenge. A few of my blogger friends are again joining in the “fun” and are wondering if I’m up for the challenge again.
I’ve been debating it over the last few weeks and thought the way to solve this is to ask you if you are up for the challenge. I have a few goals I always keep in mind as I write this little blog.
- I want to inspire anyone who visits this blog that they can create a comfortable home no matter their budget, style, or skill by showing a real home, with real limitations, with real people who spill on the sofa, with a real decorator who sometimes hits it out of the park and sometimes makes decor mistakes.
- I want to tell a story. Sometimes they are funny. Sometimes they are informational. Sometimes they are inspirational. Above all, I want to share something that adds to your day.
So, the big question is, do you want to see me do a crazy 5 week room overhaul? If so, I would do my dining room which is on my list after the kitchen (I have some posts coming real soon on the kitchen status I hope you are going to love). Here’s the dining room dressed for fall.
If you’ve been around this blog for a while you might have caught my first One Room Challenge room, my master bathroom. I’ve since learned bathrooms are not something you want to do in 5 weeks, but somehow I survived. Here’s a few pictures of the before and after.
And a few more glamorous shots.
Clearly, my photography has grown a little bit since I did this bathroom in 2015. I went down the One Room Challenge road again when I did a makeover on our 4th bedroom which we use as a media room.
Here are a few before and afters of the media room.
If I do the challenge again I think I will take a different approach and share more about the planning and budgeting aspect of it rather than just the day to day work. Share more of the trials and successes with the real numbers and real challenges.
So, here’s the real question. Do you want to see me do it? Is it something you would find beneficial, inspirational, informative?
I thought we would have a little fun with this…and let you choose my dining room’s fate.
I’ll keep this poll open for one whole week. Feel free to share it. Y’all are totally deciding this for me and I’m so excited to see what you decide.
Have a fantastic day!

The process is the most interesting part. Pouring tons of money into it puts it out of reach for most followers.

Well good thing Barbara that I don’t have a ton of money to pour in to it. I’m going to share my planning budget this time around so you can see how I pull it all together.

Nancy, I would love to have you do your dining room, but only if your life right now will allow it. I know you are busy , but you are so good at what you do. I love the media room. What an inspiration! If you do it, I look forward to reading the planning process.

Thanks Robyn! I’m busy but design and home improvement is my hobby and I love to do it. I love a good challenge.

No way! I would never. My looks are always transforming. 6 weeks would give me nightmares. Whatever you decide, good luck, Nancy! xo

Lol! I love the way you curate your home. I’ve had some of these rooms in my head for months so actually doing them will maybe get them out of my head. 🙂
