I’m talking architectural salvage for mantles today,..your welcome.
I’m in love! Have you ever walked into a store and just literally loved everything.single.thing.in the store?!? That’s how I felt when we stopped by a Nashville architectural shop. On a totally honest note…almost everything in there was above my price pointe but a girl can still dream right?
I did walk away with these goodies though. Some spindles and balustrades with beautiful patina and one piece with some amazing chippy paint. I wasn’t sure when I bought them what exactly I was going to do with them.
Candlesticks?
Group them together in a basket or a crock?
In the end, I just stood them up on my fireplace mantle and knew that was where they should go for the winter. Who doesn’t love a winter mantle with architectural salvage?
I bought the gate above the mantle about 20 years ago and have carted it around from move to move to move. I’m not going to lie…over the years I have received the side eye look multiple times as I declared, “We have to take this! I love this gate!”
I picked up the oil painting for $3 at the thrift store. I think I bought someone’s collection that day because I picked up a few paintings that day.
Some old books and a Hearth and Hand vase with some brown sticks from Hobby Lobby finish off the mantle. The candles are left over from Christmas and I think I’ll keep them up all year. They are the battery operated ones with a remote control. I love the little flickering light.
I hope you have a great weekend! I’m seriously going to try to be on here a bunch more. I know. I know. I’ve said that before. This time I mean it.

Love your mantle! You will enjoy it all winter…thanks for sharing it with us.
P S: Aren’t you glad the gate traveled with yo😉
Nancy says
Thank you! Yes! It was worth it all along to haul that thing from Texas to Georgia to Florida and then back to Georgia. 🙂

Nice wintery look for this cold weather we are experiencing……down here in Cedar Key it’s only going to be in the 40s today for the high….
Nancy says
Thank you! That is low for Cedar Key. I think we are supposed to have snow tomorrow. No school for the kids.
