It is so hard to believe it’s already week 3! I must admit progress this week wasn’t stellar. I went to this awesome blogger conference in Salt Lake City, UT called SNAP and had a phenomenal time with other like minded creative type people. It was a blast, but my makeover room sat untouched while I was gone.
Before I left I had completed a few things though, and you already saw a sneak peak at the buffet for the room above. I’m really please with how it turned out. I’m not sure if the shutters are going to stay or not. If they do, they might not stay that color. Don’t you love how indecisive I am?
The wood for the ceiling has been stained and put up. It still needs some extra trim around it to give it a more built in look.
The rug is in the room and I love all the beautiful blue colors in it. I love using hooked rugs because they are a little more comfortable than a flat weave but they don’t feel too heavy like a plush rug would.
Did I mention I’m indecisive? Well, I think it took me a full two weeks of searching every single web site known to man for the perfect coastal lamp for this room. My requirements? Not too kitschy. Not too plain. Not too huge. Not too small. Not too bright. Not too breakable (no ceramic please). Not a plain white shade. Not a cream shade. The list goes on…you get the idea. I’m happy to say I finally hit purchase on a lamp from Kirkland’s I’m really excited about. If you’ve been around this blog for a while you know I have an affinity for birds.
I have a long list of things to finish this week and weekend and hope to be in really good shape by the time we get together again next week. On deck for this week…(1) Finish painting details around the room, (2) Add extra trim to the windows and doors, (3) Purchase the perfect pillows for the chairs (indecisive), (4) Hang art work, and (5) Do something fun with some seashells.
Not too much right? I feel tired already.
Thanks for checking on my progress and don’t forget to visit Linda’s blog Calling It Home to see all of the other guest participants progress this week. There are some really awesome rooms in the works.
If you missed out on my last two weeks you can catch up below.
