Have you met my heart’s desire? No? Well, let me introduce you…Duralee’s Sheldon print. In my heart, this is the most perfect coastal fabric on the face of the Earth. At least for the next 5 minutes. No one ever said I wasn’t fickle when it comes to fabrics. I adore them until the next weave of colors turns my head. This fabric infatuation may last quite some time though.
Let’s pull out the colors in this beautiful fabric. I know what you’re thinking…it’s blue and gray, anyone can see that. But the beauty of this fabric is there are various shades of blue that give it so much more depth and character than an ordinary fabric. Besides, do you think I’m the kind of gal ?that would fall in love with an ordinary fabric?
I know in real life there is going to even be more complexities. I can’t wait to take this to my local brick and mortar store and wander around matching things up to this gorgeous coastal fabric. Like seriously, I’m planning my next Saturday already.
Moving on to the next step…if you don’t know what I’m talking about with steps, read THIS post. It’ll answer all your questions.
I’m sourcing this for a bedroom, my master bedroom in fact. With that said, I’m breaking a few of my own rules because I already know my bedding is going to be pure white so I have a clean slate. I also have pure white curtains. I need to add in some real punches. I ended up choosing three, yes three fabrics that compliment the VG fabric.

I know you may be wondering where in the world the mint green came from. If you’ve been around the last few weeks then you may have seen my blue and white plate wall. I want to pull in some of the mint color in the beautiful center platter. A few pops of mint here are there are needed.
Now for a few smaller prints to give a little more interest. I think this sweet blue and white fabric speaks to the lines of the VG fabric and the color is just so stunning. This one is a real eye catcher.

This next fabric just says summer and coastal fabric to me. I love linen. I love to wear linen and I love the texture of linen. So when I spotted this blue and white linen stripe fabric that reminds me of a linen shirt, I was all in. This is the type of fabric that makes you just want to put it on everything. I’m going to have to restrain myself a little with this one.
The final step is to match up some solids and textural solids to my perfect coastal fabric. I already told you I have a big dose of white in the room so one solid is done. I also need a navy. In this case, I think I need to go with fabric in hand because navy can be so different in person.
I’m so excited to share this textile mix with you because it really is a collection of fabrics I love. I spent the weekend working on a treatment for my bay window that is turning out fabulously. I’ll share that with you on Thursday. This feels so personal to me because it is exactly what I want to go in our master bedroom. The hard part is going to be deciding which fabric goes on which piece of furniture etc…Stay tuned.
Have you ever seen something for your home and it stole your heart? You couldn’t think of anything else for the space? You.had.to.have.it.
Have a fantastic day!
