Hello! My name is Nancy and I am so happy you stopped by to visit. I am a wife, mom, teacher, student, organizer, and perpetual home decorator. I have never met a thrift store I didn’t want to peruse and I have a serious devotion to anything chippy, French, and weathered.
Any given weekend you will find me thrifting and visiting antique shops on the hunt for some of my favorite things to collect.
Most of all, welcome! Pour a cup of coffee or sweet tea and let’s talk turning your house into a home you love.

I read your comment on another blog and the name of your blog intrigued me. Now I know the US has large coast line but I felt you were a fellow Florida. It seems I am right so I have a Florida blogger to follow.

Hi! This is Maria with Rustapalooza Vintage Markets. We are having a Vintage Market in St. Marys, GA and Deb Cottle from Cottle & Gunn suggested I get in touch with you about possibly doing a post on our market. Would you be interested? Please email me at rustedmarket@gmail.com

Hi Nancy,
I received your email post about the trouble you were having with the Popup on your site and think I can help. If you run your site using WordPress, you can install the free plugin called Popup Maker. It works great. You design it and it can be any size. You adjust it so it shows up at the speed you want it to and you can either have it float with the readers scroll or stay fixed. I suggest keeping it fixed so people can easily scroll past it if they want. And don’t make it too large or it will be annoying trying to x-out of it on a phone. You can see it on my site, EntriWays.com
Best of luck
Vicki

Hello Nancy my fellow barrier island mate! My husband and I have also moved from a large home to a much smaller home in Florida. We love it but are still trying to pare down as it were. I read your post and absolutely adored it! You have such a lovely way of expressing yourself. I wish you all the best on your future endeavors, I am sure you will reach your goals if your history has anything to say about it. I too work with furniture and extras, I love what I do too! My heart to yours!

I love your corner pantry in “The project that never happened” article!
Do you happen to have any pics of the inside of this cabinet?

Hi Nancy,
You have a great About page. Whew…. mine pales in comparison. I keep putting it on my to-do-list but never quite get to it.
My mother is a teacher also. She’s an itinerate teacher for the blind and visually impaired. My dad was a teacher also. He taught music, choir, ensemble, coached sports and also worked with special needs kids as well. He really was a jack of all trades who mastered almost everything he did. Later on he became a theologian and pastor. For a short time right after high school, I taught school too. It was a fun time with the littles.
It was so nice to meet you. Good luck with the dissertation. I’m sure that is incredibly overwhelming but you will get it done and done well.

Hi! Found you via Pinterest. 🙂 Love your pantry door. I’m an old door fanatic, myself. I have built 15 pocket doors and am stripping the antique 6 horizontal panel doors for them.. (God Bless Citristrip!) Anyway. ’nuff about me.
I wanted to ask on that post about the hinges you used on your pantry? I’m building mudroom cabinets and looking for something larger/longer.
It was nice to read about you. Interesting how life takes us in directions that we never expect, but somehow end up feeling right, isn’t I? 🙂
Nancy says
Hey Christine! Thanks for finding the blog. I bough the hinges at Lowe’s straight off the shelf. I think they just keep them in stock.
